About
BONUS Ltd. České Budějovice was founded in 1992 and initially dealt solely with the trading activity. In 2003, preparations of project to recycle used tires began. This activity was a response to the unsatisfactory situation in the field of using this valuable waste. Salvage of used tires did not work well at all, and so far attempts to economically process of this raw material in particular by cryogenic method were not very successful.
In addition to studying all the available literature, the staff of the company focused on acquiring practical knowledge and operational experience of already completed projects. For this purpose, the managers visited most of the existing facilities in the Czech Republic and the number of existing plants in Europe (Slovakia, Croatia, Germany, Spain, Sweden, France, Switzerland and England). Based on these findings, a project of recycling plant was in 2008 managed to realize.
The new recycling plant was constructed on the northern outskirts of Borovany town nearby České Budějovice, in a former mining area (after reclamation) and is equipped with high technology. The plant has a capacity of processing 30,000 tons of used tires per year. The output product is high quality rubber granulates with different texture, which are used to manufacture rubber elastomers (boards) for industry and construction (playgrounds, sports fields, noise and antivibration boards, etc).
The plant has its own finishing machine with a capacity of 2000 t of rubber boards per year.
